The Italian Funeral

A man was leaving a 7-11 with his morning coffee and newspaper when
he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby
cemetery. A long black hearse was followed by a second long black
hearse about 50 feet behind. Behind the second hearse was a solitary
italian guy walking a pitbull on a leash. Behind him were 200 men walking
single file. The guy couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully
approached the Italian walking the dog and said "Sir, I know now is a bad
time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. Whose
funeral is it?" The italian replied: "Well, that first hearse is for my
wife." "What happened to her?" The man replied: "My dog attacked and
killed her." He inquired further: "Well, who is in the second hearse?"
The Italian answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my wife
when the dog turned on her." A poignant and thoughtful moment of
silence passes between the two men. "Sir, could I borrow that dog?"
"Get in line."


Il Funerale Italiano

Un uomo esce dall'ufficio col caffè in una mano e il giornale
nell'altra, quando nota una strana processione funebre che si dirigeva
verso il cimitero. Un lungo carro nero era seguito da un altro simile
a pochi metri di distanza. Dietro il secondo carro c'era soltanto
un italiano con un pitbull al guinzaglio. Dietro di lui c'erano
200 uomini che procedevano in fila indiana.
L'uomo non seppe resistere alla curiosità, e con rispetto si accostò
all'italiano col cane e disse; "Signore, sò che non è il momento
adatto per disturbarla, ma non avevo mai visto un funerale così, ma
che tipo di funerale è?"
L'italiano rispose: "Vedi, il primo carro è per mia moglie."
"Cosa le è accaduto?" L'italiano fece: "Il mio cane l'ha assalita e
uccisa." L'uomo chiese ancora: "oh, ma chi c'è nel secondo carro?"
L'italiano rispose: "Mia suocera. Ha provato ad aiutare la figlia,
ma il cane ha assalito anche lei." Al che ci fu un lungo momento
di silenzio pieno di pensieri. "Signore, potrebbe prestarmi il suo
cane?" "Mettiti in fila."
